Dyslexia and any other specific learning difficulty can affect not only reading and writing but also things like coordination, sequencing, and organisation, which often leads to an array of emotional and physical challenges.

About me
After leaving university, I have now been working in education for 14 years, supporting individuals both in and out of the classroom.
I began my career in mainstream education, however I now work within an alternative provision, where therapeutic support and personalised learning is provided on a 1:1 basis. Over the years, it has become clear to me that every young person deserves a chance to learn and develop skills in a way that is personal to them to meet their needs.
As a specialist teacher, I have completed a Level 5 Certificate in Dyslexia; Literacy, support and intervention. I hold accredited practitioner status of the BDA and have a full DBS certificate.
I am always looking to broaden my knowledge and skill set by completing courses and keeping up to date with the latest research.
Kindness and empathy are at the roots of my teaching, creating an environment where learners feel listened to and ready to learn.
